We imagine a region where music connects people to one another, to the landscapes they inhabit, and to the stories that define our communities.

Join Confluence Arts for our inaugural concert, The Rivers Are Our Brothers—an afternoon of music exploring our relationship with the natural world and the waterways that connect us.

At the heart of the program is a newly commissioned choral arrangement of Majel Connery’s Rivers Are Our Brothers, created in collaboration with the Confluence Arts Project Choir. Connery’s work gives voice to the natural world, inviting us to encounter rivers, mountains, trees, and other-than-human life not simply as landscape, but as fellow inhabitants of a shared world.

Composer and performer Majel Connery joins us for the performance, alongside the Confluence Arts Project Choir and members of Chanticleer. The new arrangements have been developed through a collaborative workshop process with Connery and the ensemble—an approach that reflects Confluence Arts’ commitment to adventurous music-making, collaboration, and a deep sense of place.
