Artistic Director

Alex Heetland is the Founder and Artistic Director of Confluence Arts. A conductor and arts leader, he is passionate about creating extraordinary musical experiences that connect people with one another and with the places they call home. Through innovative collaborations and inspiring performances, he seeks to build a vibrant cultural community rooted in artistic excellence, curiosity, and belonging

Centered on the waterways that shape our region, Rivers & Voices brings together singers, composers, and audiences for a powerful exploration of place, community, and stewardship. Through newly commissioned works, collaborations with contemporary artists, and music inspired by California's rivers, this project launches our vision of creating artistic experiences that are deeply rooted in where we live.
